Accident Report

Jacksonville, TX — August 30, 2026, one person was injured in a truck accident at about 7:30 p.m. on Frankston Street/U.S. Highway 175.

A preliminary accident report indicates that an eastbound 2016 Peterbilt semi-truck collided with a 2020 Dodge Ram 2500 that was going south on County Road 4118. The crash forced the pickup to overturn near Joe Wright Elementary School.

A passenger in the pickup, a 30-year-old man whose name has not been made public yet, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. The driver and another passenger were not hurt.

The truck driver was not injured, the report states.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Cherokee County crash at this time.
