Accident Report

Madison County, IN — July 28, 2026, one person was injured in a truck accident at about 10 a.m. on State Road 38 near Markleville.

Authorities said a southbound semi-truck allegedly failed to stop at the intersection with State Road 38 and collided with an eastbound 2018 Chevrolet sedan, pushing the smaller vehicle into a building.

The Chevrolet driver, a 29-year-old Markleville woman, was flown to an Indianapolis hospital with critical injuries after the crash, according to authorities. Her name has not been made public yet.

The truck driver and the driver of another vehicle damaged in the crash were not injured, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Madison County crash at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
