Accident Report
Van Zandt County, TX — September 1, 2026, one person was injured in a truck accident at about 4:25 p.m. on State Highway 243 west of Canton.
A preliminary accident report indicates that an eastbound 2016 Peterbilt semi-truck collided with a 2012 Honda CR-V that was waiting turn left onto County Road 2112.
The Honda driver, a 43-year-old Kaufman woman whose name has not been made public yet, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. A 5-year-old girl riding with her was not hurt.
The truck driver, who was not injured, was cited for speeding after the crash, the report states.
