Accident Report

Goliad County, TX — July 29, 2026, a Gonzales man was injured in a truck accident at about 10:30 a.m. on State Highway 119 near Weesatche.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a southbound 2011 Kia Soul was stopped while waiting to turn left onto Weise Road when it was hit from behind by a 2015 Peterbilt semi-truck. The truck overturned after the collision.

The truck driver, a 58-year-old Gonzalez resident, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. His name has not been made public yet.

The Kia driver and his front seat passenger were listed as possibly injured, the report states, while an 8-year-old girl in the back seat suffered unknown injuries. Another child was not hurt.
