How Did This Accident Occur?
At this point, we don’t really know why this truck overturned. Was the driver going too fast? Did he try to turn suddenly? Did the truck have an issue with its suspension or steering mechanism? These are questions that authorities should consider as they investigate this crash.
Investigators will rely on physical evidence, vehicle data, witness statements and available video footage as they work to reconstruct this accident, while cell phone records could show if the driver was texting or interacting with an app at the time.
Authorities also should look into the trucking company’s role in this crash. Did it provide adequate training for the driver before putting him on the road in a 40,000-pound truck? Did the company pressure the driver to stay on the road beyond the hours limit? Was the truck overdue for any scheduled maintenance or repairs?
This investigation should give the driver and his family a clear picture of what caused this crash.
