How Did This Accident Occur?

It’s not clear how this crash happened at this point. Maybe the driver was distracted, perhaps by a cell phone. Or maybe the construction zone wasn’t laid out properly, so the driver couldn’t avoid the crash. Or maybe the vehicle had an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism. That’s a lot of maybes, especially as a driver fights to recover from critical injuries, so authorities must find answers for those affected by this crash.

Investigators likely will review physical evidence, witness statements, cell phone records, data from the vehicle and any available video footage to help them reconstruct the accident. But if they suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this crash, it likely will take an outside expert to examine the vehicle, since in my experience most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or expertise for such exams.

These steps should yield answers about how this crash happened.
