The Jeep driver, whose name has not been made public yet, was hospitalized with serious injuries after the crash, according to authorities.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries, but refused medical treatment, authorities said.
No one inside the QuikTrip store was injured, according to authorities.

How Did This Accident Occur?
The suggestion that a mechanical issue contributed to this crash means the investigation needs to be expanded. In my experience, police typically focus on cataloguing injuries and clearing the scene, but someone needs to look at the truck’s maintenance history.
When was the last time the truck’s brakes were serviced? Did they fail because of a manufacturer’s defect or a shoddy repair job?
Those questions won’t answer themselves, so it’s up to investigators to root out a reason for the truck’s brake failure. An independent investigation may be necessary if the police don’t have the expertise to diagnose the problem with the truck’s brakes.
