How Did This Accident Occur?
It is not clear at this point how this crash occurred. Did the motorcycle or the sedan run a red light? Was the signal light working properly? Did either vehicle have a mechanical issue that contributed to this accident? These are the type of questions that authorities must consider as they work to reconstruct this crash.
Investigators will find answers as they pore through evidence from the scene, witness statements, data from the scene and any available video footage of the crash. Cell phone records can show what each driver was doing at the time of the accident, but an outside expert likely will be needed if authorities suspect a mechanical problem played a part in this crash.
Most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training to conduct a forensic examination on these vehicles, in my experience, but a thorough review may be necessary to determine how this crash happened.
The injured rider and his family deserve to know as much as possible about what caused this accident.
