How Did This Accident Occur?

An accident like this calls for a two-pronged investigation, as authorities work to piece together what happened on Commerce Street while also trying to identify the vehicle involved in this crash.

There is some crossover, as witness statements and any available video footage could serve both goals, but questions about the condition of the driver and the hit-and-run vehicle will have to wait until they are identified.

Was the driver distracted, fatigued or impaired? Did the vehicle have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism? Those questions can’t be answered until they are located.
