Accident Report

Bell County, TX — May 2, 2026, one person was injured in a suspected drunk driver accident at about 1:30 a.m. in the 5000 block of Waterworks Road.

Authorities said a vehicle crashed through a house near the intersection with Denman’s Loop, trapping a woman who had been inside a bedroom. She was pinned against a boat that was parked behind the house near Westcliff.

The woman was flown to a Temple hospital with unspecified injuries after emergency crews freed her from the wreckage, according to authorities.

The vehicle driver, who appeared to be intoxicated, was hospitalized with minor injuries, authorities said.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Bell County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

It’s not clear at this time why a vehicle crashed into a house on Waterworks Road, but the investigation should expand beyond the crash scene if tests prove the driver was intoxicated. Where he had been drinking matters, because under Texas law alcohol providers can share responsibility for injuries caused by a customer who was served while obviously intoxicated.

I’m not saying that applies here, but it is worth looking into so the injured woman and her family know everyone who may have played a role in this crash.
