The motorcyclist, a 31-year-old man, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. His name has not been made public yet.

The GMC driver, 38, was charged with driving while intoxicated after the crash, the report states.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Authorities probably will investigate this crash like any other injury accident, but I don’t expect them to look beyond the scene to figure out where the GMC driver had been drinking.

That is an important question to answer, but it is one most law enforcement agencies don’t address after alcohol-related accidents like this.

Someone should figure out where the GMC driver had been drinking because under Texas law alcohol providers can be share responsibility for injuries caused by a patron who was served while obviously intoxicated before he got behind the wheel.

I don’t know if that applies in this instance, but the injured motorcyclist and his family deserve to know everyone who may have played a role in this crash.
