How Did This Accident Occur?

Initial reports don’t say why this pickup left the road. Was the driver distracted or fatigued? Did he swerve to avoid another vehicle? Did the GMC have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism? These scenarios aren’t speculation. I have seen them play out in other crashes over my career, and they are the type of questions that authorities should consider as they investigate this crash.

Answers will come from vehicle data, physical evidence, witness statements and any available video footage, while cell phone records could show what the driver was doing at the time.

This investigation should give the injured passenger and her family a clear picture of what led to this crash.
