Accident Report

Lewisville, TX — May 9, 2026, one person was injured in a car accident at about 10 p.m. on southbound MacArthur Boulevard.

A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2013 Nissan Rogue crashed into a 2013 Toyota Camry that was stopping for traffic near the Sam Rayburn Tollway/State Highway 121.

The Nissan driver, a 34-year-old man whose name has not been made public yet, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.

The two people in the Toyota were listed as possibly injured, the report states.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Denton County crash at this time.

How Did This Accident Occur?

Was the Nissan driver distracted or fatigued? Did the Toyota have working brake lights? Did the Nissan have a problem with its brakes or steering mechanism? These are questions that only a full investigation of this accident can answer.

I expect authorities to search for answers by poring over witness statements, physical evidence, data from both vehicles and any available video footage. Cell phone records could show what each driver was doing at the time.

An outside expert likely will be needed if investigators suspect a mechanical issue contributed to this crash, requiring a forensic examination of the vehicles. That is beyond the capabilities of most law enforcement agencies, in my experience, but the injured driver and his family deserve to know as much as possible about this crash.
