A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2013 Nissan Altima heading south when its left rear tire blew, causing it to leave the highway and overturn several times.

The driver, a 44-year-old man from Granite City, IL, was seriously injured in the crash near the junction with State Route 370, according to the report. His name has not been made public yet.
