Las Cruces, NM — September 19, 2026, one person was injured in a car accident at about 2:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of East May Avenue.

Authorities said a 2014 Mercedes-Benz C was heading east when it went up onto the sidewalk and hit a sign and a mailbox before swerving back across the road and colliding head-on with a parked Ford F-350.

The Mercedes driver, a 22-year-old man, was hospitalized with critical injuries after the crash, according to authorities. His name has not been made public yet.
