How Did This Accident Occur?

It is not clear at this point why the Toyota left the road. Was the driver distracted, fatigued or even impaired? Did the car swerve to avoid another vehicle or an object in the road? Did it have an issue with its brakes or steering mechanism? These are the kind of questions that authorities must consider as they investigate this crash.

That investigation likely will start with looking over physical evidence, witness statements, data from the Toyota’s engine control module and any available video footage. Cell phone records may show what the driver was doing at the time of the crash.

If that doesn’t clear things up, authorities may suspect a mechanical problem contributed to this crash. A qualified expert likely will be needed to examine the Toyota, since most law enforcement agencies don’t have the time or training for such inspections.
