A lot of the time when I talk about taking initial details with a grain of salt, folks take it to be a slight at authorities. That’s not at all the intent. The point is that there can sometimes be challenging, unusual contributing factors which require particular training and equipment that even skilled officers may not have access to. As a result, things like vehicle defects, for example, can easily slip through the cracks without more narrow, thorough independent investigations. So with a crash like this, it’s important to consider that whatever details authorities come up with still might not tell the whole story. That’s why it’s important for folks to consider whether or not they still have any doubts or unanswered questions after a serious crash. If so, there may still be more to the story.
