Accident Report
April 4, 2026, an officer was injured due to a hit-and-run accident which happened on I-35E around 2:18 a.m.
Preliminary information about the accident says that it happened along southbound lanes of the interstate near the Harry Hines on-ramp.
It appears that a Dallas Police officer was in a vehicle along southbound lanes. A 32-year-old woman was in a Chevy Camaro also on southbound I-35E. Reports say that a Cadillac crashed into those vehicles. Following the collision, the Cadillac driver allegedly fled the scene.
The officer reportedly had serious injuries due to the crash. It’s unclear at this time if authorities ever identified or located the runaway driver.
How Did This Accident Occur?
This early in the morning, alcohol is always a serious concern following a crash. Alcohol also happens to be a common reason people flee accident scenes. Maybe that happened here. Of course, that requires finding the driver responsible for all of this. That’s usually just a matter of time when authorities have the vehicle in custody, as they apparently did here. If they have yet to find the driver, though, it might help to put out more information to the public. Someone in the community may be able to connect dots authorities couldn’t, which can then lead to appropriate consequences and a proper resolution.
