Accident Report

August 22, 2026, one person was injured following an off-road vehicle accident around 2:00 a.m. along O. T. Smith Road.

Preliminary information about the crash says that the crash happened on a paved pedestrian trail along O. T. Smith Road, just east of Tornillo about a mile from FM 3380.

Authorities allege that the driver of an off-road vehicle was operating along the paved path. While doing so, the off-road vehicle crashed into a pipe barrier. Due to this, the passenger of the off-road vehicle sustained serious injuries.

The driver of the off-road vehicle reportedly was arrested for driving while intoxicated. Right now, additional details about the accident are unavailable.
