Accident Report
Marion County, TX — August 2, 2026, Odessa Ford was injured in a single-vehicle accident at about 7:20 a.m. on State Highway 49 near Smithland.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a westbound 2023 Nissan Murano with its driver assistance system engaged ran off the road and hit a tree near County Road 3300.
Nissan driver Odessa Ford, 71, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Marion County crash at this time.

It’s not clear what caused this SUV to leave the road, but the indication that it had a driver assistance system activated raises some additional questions.
