Right now, there are no other available details about the crash. Were authorities able to look into the possible brake failure? Frankly, that’s not something that’s typically within the scope of their investigations. Just about every case I’ve encountered involving mechanical issues required independent accident reconstructionists with special tools and training. Short of that, evidence could slip through the cracks. That’s not just bad for victims and families affected by an accident. That’s also bad if the failure was the result of a defect that could be affecting other vehicles and putting others at risk. Were authorities able to get details here in the hands of investigators who knew what to look for?
