Hidalgo County, TX — December 29, 2023, Nathan Schwarz and Daniel Saenz were killed following a single-vehicle car accident at 2:00 a.m. on Highway 495.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident happened off the intersection of Highway 495 and North 12th Street.
According to current public details, 22-year-old Daniel Saenz and 40-year-old Nathan Schwarz were occupants in a Kia Soul said to be going westbound on the highway. Approaching North 12th Street, the vehicle apparently exited westbound lanes to the left, went across eastbound lanes, and hopped the curb. There, the vehicle crashed into a light pole.
As a result of the collision, both Saenz and Schwarz succumbed to fatal injuries. There did not appear to be anyone else in the vehicle with them. Authorities also made no mention of other vehicles being involved in the accident. The cause of the crash can’t be confirmed right now.
