Castro County, TX — April 30, 2024, Mykyla McKenzie Medrano was injured as the result of a car accident at around 8:00 p.m. along US Highway 385.
Initial details about the accident says that it happened a couple miles north of Dimmitt.
Investigators said that 23-year-old Mykyla McKenzie Medrano was in a Buick Enclave traveling southbound along the highway. It appears the vehicle traveled off the side of the road where it hit a guardrail. The vehicle then overturned.
Due to the accident, Mykyla McKenzie Medrano was seriously injured. There did not appear to be anyone else involved in the accident. Additional details remain unconfirmed.

I get tons of calls about single-vehicle accidents, and the concern is almost always the same. People are rightfully concerned that authorities might not be fully considering their side of the story. It’s actually all too common for authorities to jump to conclusions or rely on a few common explanations when it comes to single-vehicle wrecks. If they don’t focus on the evidence, they might draw false conclusions which the evidence could have easily clarified. So if authorities were more thorough and fair here, that would be good to hear. It just wouldn’t be that unusual if they missed something important due to shallow investigations.
