Richmond, CA — October 22, 2023, one man was killed and others were injured in a multi-vehicle truck accident just before 6:00 a.m. along I-80.
According to reports, traffic was stopped in the eastbound lanes of I-80 near Cutting Boulevard when the incident occurred.
Authorities say that a man driving a box truck failed to stop for the traffic jam and rear-ended a Toyota, causing a chain reaction with four other vehicles. The box truck had reportedly been traveling at unsafe speeds when roadway conditions and weather were taken into account.
As a result of the accident, a 47-yaer-old San Pablo man lost his life; several other people were also injured. This accident is still under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
