How Did This Accident Occur?

I’ve had this career for over three decades. In that time, I have had the opportunity to analyze thousands of car accidents. Many people are quick to jump to conclusions based on little-to-no known facts. I’m not about to do that, though. I’ve learned the prudence of waiting until the investigation is complete and they have made their findings public.

There is just so much we still don’t know about this accident that there is little more that we can do until then aside from speculate. At this point, we don’t even know how many vehicles, exactly, were even involved. Was driver error a factor? It happened later at night, so maybe fatigue or impairment were behind it? Beyond that, there is also the possibility of mechanical malfunctions or product defects with the vehicles themselves.

Hopefully, the investigators—whether the authorities or a third party—get to the bottom of it. After all, the people affected by this accident deserve to understand not only how it occurred, but why. Vague assumptions based on surface-level investigation just won’t cut it.
