Accident Report

June 9, 2026, a man was fatally injured following a mower rollover accident around 1:30 p.m. along K Highway.

Authorities said that the accident took place off the intersection of K Highway and Highway 13. According to officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident happened as a 75-year-old man was on a Maverick mower. The mower reportedly overturned, and the man sustained fatal injuries.

I certainly don’t know more about this incident than what authorities released to the public. However, I’ve seen many accidents involving non-standard vehicles—ATVs, golf carts, farm equipment, etc. When accidents like this happen, authorities often just write them off as unavoidable or user error. It is possible, of course, that a simple mistake or an unexpected hazard led to the accident. But it’s important an accident like this also gets a careful inspection for a potential product defect. If the victim was using the mower properly, but something still went wrong, it’s possible the mower itself was the problem. At the very least, it’s important that possibility gets ruled out.
