Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of my primary concerns with motorcycle wrecks is a lot of people care more about jumping to conclusions than actually letting the evidence speak for itself. There’s a common negative bias against motorcyclists, and even authorities sometimes let this get in the way of a fair, thorough investigation.
That’s why I always talk about the importance of following up with the authorities early on. If it seems like they’re focusing on gather the facts and telling the whole story, that’s good. But when it seems like they’re not giving the victim a fair shake, the crash might need to be put in the hands of professionals who can put the evidence before their own biases.
