Ellis County, TX — August 23, 2024, one man was injured following a single-vehicle motorcycle accident shortly before 1:00 a.m. along West 6th Street.
According to authorities, a 38-year-old man was traveling on an eastbound Honda motorcycle, allegedly in the act of fleeing from police, on Sixth Street in the vicinity of the Wood Street intersection when the accident took place.

Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the motorcycle failed to safely negotiate a curve in the roadway; it reportedly veered off of the right side of the road at the intersection, coming to a stop after crashing into a house on the southeast corner.
The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries as a result of the wreck, according to reports; he was transported to a local medical facility by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported. Additional details pertaining this incident—including the identity of the motorcyclist—are not available at this point in time.
