How Did This Accident Occur?
A lot of people are quick to assume motorcycle accidents have to involve unsafe speeds or reckless driving. These are obvious possible factors, but I’ve seen plenty of motorcyclists hurt because of factors completely beyond their control. For example, there may have been debris in the road from a previous crash, an 18-wheeler losing a tire, or something falling off the back of a pickup. If people just jump to conclusions because they have a negative view of motorcyclists, they might end up blaming someone for something they couldn’t actually avoid. That’s why my hope is that investigators are letting the evidence speak for itself.
Are there any motorcyclists out there who take either of these roads? Are there any hazards other riders should look out for? Let us know in the comments.
