El Paso, TX — March 9, 2024, Miriam Gayton was injured in a car accident at approximately 12:35 p.m. along Montwood Drive.
According to authorities, 32-year-old Miriam Gaytan was traveling in an eastbound Nissan Sentra on Montwood Drive approaching the Estrada Drive intersection when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that a northbound FJ Cruiser in Estrada Drive had stopped at the stop sign but failed to yield the right of way to Montwood traffic, entering the intersection at an unsafe time. It reportedly had to stop in the middle of the west and eastbound lanes because westbound traffic prevented it from exiting to northbound Estrada Drive. This resulted in a collision between the back left side of the Cruiser and the front end of the Nissan Sentra.
Gaytan incurred suspected severe injuries as a result of the wreck. She was transported to a local medical facility by emergency medical services in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
