Cherokee County, TX — January 13, 2024, Miguel Mendez was killed as the result of a single-vehicle car accident at around 3:00 a.m. on Highway 135.
According to preliminary details from the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash happened northeast of Troup.
Current statements in the news say that 25-year-old Miguel Mendez was in a vehicle going along State Highway 135. For reasons which can’t be confirmed right now, the vehicle went off the side of the road and through the ditch where it then crashed into a tree.
The vehicle caught fire due to the collision, and Mendez died due to the accident. Authorities did not mention any other occupants in the vehicle. They have yet to speculate publicly on the cause of the crash, and investigations are ongoing.
