Crittenden County, AR — February 14, 2024, Michael Biggs and Zena Biggs were killed while Paul Thorne was injured in a truck accident at about 9:45 a.m. along I.H. 40.
According to authorities, 30-year-old Paul Thorne was in a Ford Explorer in the eastbound lanes of Interstate Highway 40 with emergency lights activated assisting with a lane closure in a work zone when the accident occurred.
Officials indicate that, for unknown reasons, an eastbound 18-wheeler occupied by 71-year-old Michael Biggs and 71-year-old Zena Biggs neglected to heed the lane change markers and signs. It reportedly collided with the Explorer as a result. Both Zena and Michael Biggs incurred fatal injuries as a result of the accident. Thorne suffered injuries of unknown severity. No other injuries have been reported.
