How Did This Accident Occur?

In my experience, “lost control” can mean a lot of things, from a distracted driver to a blown tire. Or maybe the first officers on the scene just didn’t know what caused the dump truck to leave the road. That is why a thorough investigation is so important. It will turn up the facts needed to piece together what happened on Route 101.

Investigators will pore over witness statements, evidence from the scene, data from the truck’s engine control module and any available video footage of the crash. That will help them reconstruct this crash, and provide answers for the injured driver and his family.

It is also worth looking into the truck’s maintenance records to ensure that it was in good working order at the time of the crash. Delayed maintenance could mean the truck’s owner could bear responsibility for this crash.
