Harris County, TX — October 20, 2023, Michael Leger was injured following a car accident at around 10:30 p.m. along F.M. 1960.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident occurred in the area of F.M. 1960 and I-69/Eastex Freeway.
Investigators said that 68-year-old Michael Leger was in a Jeep Grand Cherokee on eastbound lanes of F.M. 1960. Traffic was stopped at the light at Eastex, but an approaching Chevy Avalanche reportedly failed to stop, crashing into the line of vehicles. Leger was seriously injured in the crash while a passenger in the Jeep may have had minor injuries. No other injuries were reported.

Reading about this, I wonder: Did authorities happen to find an explanation for why only one person was seriously injured? There could be a reasonable explanation, but folks in a crash like this tend to at least have comparable injuries. The fact that even the person sitting right next to the injured driver here was more or less okay is a serious red flag. It makes me wonder if something unusual with the victim’s vehicle led to serious injuries which otherwise could have been prevented.
Again, there may not be anything unusual about this crash, but one has to wonder if authorities really know the whole story here.
