Taylor County, TX — May 3, 2024, Michael Haithcock and one other person were injured in a car accident at approximately 9:45 p.m. along Cedar Street.
According to authorities, 64-year-old Michael Haithcock and a 65-year-old woman were traveling in a northbound Honda Accord on Cedar Street at the South 1st Street intersection when the accident took place.

The Honda reportedly had the green light from the traffic signal at the intersection. Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, an eastbound Chevrolet Suburban on 1st Street failed to stop for the red light, entering the intersection at an apparently unsafe time. This resulted in a collision between the front-end of the Suburban and the front-left side of the Honda.
Haithcock, according to reports, suffered severe injuries due to the wreck. The woman who had been in the Honda with him sustained reportedly minor injuries, as well. They were each transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment. No other injuries have been reported.
Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
