Additional details aren’t clear right now, though when people see a DWI, they tend to think everything will be straightforward. That’s not always the case, because the driver may not be the only one to hold responsible for the accident. It’s also important to find out if they were over-served by a local alcohol provider.
If somewhere like a bar, restaurant, or liquor store over-serves someone, and people get hurt as a result, that establishment may be subject to criminal investigations, fines, suspended licenses, and even liability for the resulting harm. Unfortunately, it’s something authorities rarely give enough attention, so even if something like that happened here, it may not be apparent until there’s been more thorough independent investigations.
