Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
Authorities allege the Ford driver had been drinking. Frankly, it wouldn’t surprise me if the driver who left the scene had also been drinking. It’s all too common late at night, and it’s a common reason drivers flee the scene.
Hopefully authorities didn’t just write this crash off like I’ve seen in the past. Continuing to put information out to the public could help track down the runaway driver, and there should also be investigations into this other possibly intoxicated driver and even into the possibility a bar illegally over-served them. It doesn’t help to just pin all of the blame on one person when there could be multiple parties responsible for a senseless, avoidable accident.
