Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman
One of the most common concerns families come to me about is they want to be sure their loved one’s side of the story was told fairly. How can a family know if that’s happening?
A good first step is to bring all questions and concerns directly to the authorities who investigated the crash. If they’re able to address all concerns adequately, that’s generally a sign they did fair, thorough investigations.
However, if details don’t add up or there are still unanswered questions, that can be a sign that the accident needs a second investigation to make sure nothing important slipped through the cracks. Either way, families can better decide what next step is best for them.
