Harris County, TX — December 24, 2023, Melissa Gates, Jessica Hayden, and three others were injured in a car accident at approximately 3:40 p.m. along F.M. 2100.
According to reports, four people were traveling in a southbound Jeep Wrangler on F.M. 2100 at the Smith Road intersection when the accident took place.
The weather and road conditions in the area at the time were reported to have been rainy and wet. Officials indicate that a northbound Ford Fusion occupied by a 62-year-old man failed to yield the right-of-way to oncoming traffic when attempting to make a left turn onto Smith Road. This resulted in a collision between the Jeep and the Ford.
A four-year-old girl, and a 6-year-old girl who had been passengers in the Jeep sustained suspected minor injuries. 57-year-old Melissa Gates, 33-year-old Jessica Hayden, and the 62-year-old occupant of the Ford Fusion all incurred reportedly severe injuries due to the accident. All of the people involved were transported to local medical facilities by EMS in order to receive necessary treatment.
