June 23, 2026, Melanie Washington was injured due to a rear-end car accident just after 5:15 p.m. along Interstate Highway 40.

According to authorities, 53-year-old Melanie Washington was traveling as a passenger in an eastbound Nissan Murano on Interstate Highway 40 at Washington Street when the accident took place.
