UPDATE (June 17, 2024): The man who lost his life as a result of this accident has been identified as 34-year-old Martin Seferino Orasco. The investigation is ongoing.
Houston, TX — June 12, 2024, a pedestrian was killed in a car accident at approximately 9:20 p.m. along U.S. Highway 59, Southwest Freeway.
According to authorities, a 34-year-old man was on foot attempting to cross Southwest Freeway from east to west in the vicinity west of Fountainview Drive when the accident took place.
Officials indicate that, for as yet unknown reasons, the man was struck by a southbound Jeep Wrangler. The pedestrian suffered reportedly fatal injuries as a result of the accident; he was declared deceased at the scene. No other injuries have been reported.
