Accident Report
May 13, 2026, Markita Thompson was killed as the result of a car accident at around 11:20 a.m. along US 61.
The Arkansas State Police said that the accident happened south of Blytheville near Sandy Ridge Road.
It appears that 69-year-old Markita Thompson was a passenger in a Ford F-150 going southbound on the highway. In events unclear, the car crashed into a culvert off the side of the highway.
Due to the crash, Markita Thompson sustained fatal injuries. Authorities did not list any other injured victims. Additional details about the crash are unavailable at this time.
