Austin, TX — April 1, 2026, Mario Garcia Gonzalez was killed in a hit-and-run accident at about 2:30 p.m. at North Lamar Boulevard and Rutland Drive.

Authorities said an unknown vehicle hit a pedestrian at the intersection, then kept driving.

The pedestrian, 40-year-old Mario Alfonso Garcia Gonzalez, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, according to authorities.

Authorities have not released any additional information about the Travis County crash at this time.
