Accident Report
March 21, 2026, Maricia Garza was injured due to a single-car accident at approximately 1:30 a.m. along Farm to Market 3512.
According to authorities, 24-year-old Maricia Garza was traveling in a southeast bound Chevrolet Tahoe on F.M. 3512 near the Ingleside Regional Airport northwest of the Main Street intersection when the accident took place. Officials indicate that, for reasons yet to be confirmed, the Tahoe failed to safely maintain its lane of travel. It was consequently involved in a single-vehicle collision in which it apparently struck a fence and overturned.
Garza reportedly sustained serious injuries over the course of the accident. Additional details pertaining to this incident are not available at this point in time. The investigation is currently ongoing.
How Did This Accident Occur?
Looking at accidents like this one—only a single vehicle involved, occurring late at night—it’s easy to assume it to be an open-and-shut case of driver error. Personally, I’m not one to jump to that conclusion. I’ve been doing this job for over thirty years. I’ve seen plenty cases that appear to be driver error on the surface, but the investigation turned up evidence of issues with the vehicle that were not apparent at the surface.
In those cases, the investigators did a great job of looking beyond the surface level evidence, always remaining meticulous and openminded. If the authorities are as diligent in this case, they might uncover underlying mechanical malfunctions or product defects—such as throttle issues or tire failure, for example—that played a significant role in the accident.
On top of that, there is the fact that the Tahoe overturned. Most people don’t know this, but the rollover tests that car manufactures are required to pass do not actually do a good job of simulating real world scenarios. Was there a design flaw with the Tahoe that made it more prone to rolling over than it should have been? This is relevant, because if the vehicle had managed to remain safely upright, then Maricia Garza’s injuries might not have ended up being so severe.
Hopefully, the investigators looking into this accident—whether the authorities or a third party—are being thorough enough to ensure problems with the vehicle itself don’t fly under the radar. After all, as she heals from her injuries, Garza deserves real answers backed by solid evidence, not convenient excuses that saddle her with possibly unmerited blame.
