Accident Report
June 15, 2026, Maria Belen Lopez was injured as the result of a car accident around 5:03 a.m. along the Mopac Expressway.
Authorities said in preliminary statements that the accident along southbound lanes near Highway 45, north of Austin.
According to reports, there was an initial collision involving a vehicle which authorities say 20-year-old Maria Belen Lopez had been driving. The cause of that crash is unconfirmed. After this, reports say Maria Lopez was outside the vehicle on foot, and a southbound Fiat 500 struck Maria Lopez.
Due to the accident, Maria Lopez reportedly had serious injuries. No other injuries were reported. At this time, additional details remain unconfirmed.
