Hood County, TX — February 20, 2024, Marcel Koblitz and three others were injured following a car accident at around 12:20 a.m. along Fall Creek Highway.
According to initial details surrounding the accident, it happened just outside of DeCordova off Fall Creek Highway and Cleburne Highway.
Investigators stated that 44-year-old Marcel Koblitz was a passenger along with two other passengers and a driver in an Audi S4. They were going southbound along Fall Creek Highway when the vehicle somehow traveled off the right side of the road. There, the vehicle then flipped over.
As a result of the crash, Koblitz and one of the other passengers had reportedly serious injuries. The driver’s injuries were moderate while the third passenger’s condition was not confirmed. Right now, the exact cause of the crash is also unconfirmed.

One of the reasons I talk about single-vehicle wrecks like this so often is simply because they rarely get the attention they deserve. This sort of thing can involve all kinds of complex factors, from mechanical issues to defects to road hazards. But most people just assume the driver must have been doing something wrong. As common as that is, jumping to conclusions inevitably leads to important information slipping through the cracks. If folks are going to get the help they need, the investigations need to be in the hands of someone who won’t let that happen.
