Los Angeles, CA — January 8, 2024, a man was killed as the result of a lumber truck versus box truck accident around 9:00 a.m. on the 118 Freeway.
Preliminary statements on the crash show that it happened in the Chatsworth area near Topanga Canyon Boulevard.
According to officials, a Penske box truck was going along westbound lanes of the freeway at the time. In a series of events not clear right now, the box truck somehow crashed into the back of a truck hauling lumber. The lumber was apparently hanging off the back of the trailer, and it went through the box truck’s windshield, hitting and killing the man driving the Penske truck.
Right now, there are no reports of other injuries. There also are no reported charges or citations at this time. Investigations into the accident are ongoing.
