Accident Report
Dickinson, TX — April 19, 2026, Malford Lewis Jr. was injured in a hit-and-run accident at about 10 p.m. on Gulf Freeway/Interstate 45.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a northbound black sedan collided with a 1997 Buick LeSabre while changing lanes near Deats Road. The Buick crashed into a concrete barrier after the collision, as the other vehicle continued driving.
Buick driver Malford Jean Lewis Jr., 57, was seriously injured in the crash, according to the report. The 37-year-old woman riding with him was listed as possibly injured.
Authorities have not released any additional information about the Galveston County crash at this time.

Did the unknown vehicle signal before changing lanes? Could the Buick have avoided the collision? Did a mechanical issue in either vehicle contribute to this accident?
