Grimes County, TX — May 29, 2026, Makenzie Mitts was killed in a single-vehicle accident at about 3:50 a.m. on F.M. 244 south of Iola.
A preliminary accident report indicates that a 2010 Hyundai Accent was heading north when it left the road and overturned after hitting a fence near Frances Lake.
Driver Makenzie Mitts, 23, died from injuries suffered in the crash, according to the report.
