Commentary by Attorney Michael Grossman

I have to wonder if authorities made sure to give this crash a fair, careful investigation. Frankly, I see a lot of single-vehicle accidents where authorities jump to conclusions. The problem is even worse when the person behind the wheel is a teenager.

Regardless of what is or isn’t common, the evidence should have the final say—not speculation based on preconceived biases. So if authorities were able to put that bias aside and focus on the facts, that would be good to hear. However, if authorities were too hasty and overlooked important details, it unfortunately wouldn’t be that unusual.
